Consumers are increasingly interested in their health, and you can hardly read a magazine or watch the news without finding articles or advice on healthy eating, exercising more, and healthy living in general. The demand for healthy and safe foods continues to increase. However, at the same time, more and more people are affected by infectious diseases, lifestyle diseases – such as diabetes, overweight, and cardiovascular diseases – and exposure to chemicals which can lead to cancer and inhibit our ability to reproduce. Thus, research that promotes health and prevents disease is very important.
On 12 November 2024, you are invited to attend a conference on health promotion and disease prevention. Attendance is free, but you must register by 10 November. The programme is divided into two sessions:
The first part will take place in Oticon Hall with a series of exciting presentations. See the programme for the first part below.
The second part will take place in the Biosphere in Building 202 as a Health Fair with various simultaneous activities. Engage in dialogue with the institute's researchers and advisors at different exhibition stands, hear additional short presentations, or participate in unique tours of some of the institute’s laboratories to learn more about DTU National Food Institute’s work in promoting health and preventing diseases.
The conference is particularly relevant for professionals in the food sector, industry organisations, research institutions (including other DTU institutes), authorities, healthcare professionals, and food science students. Journalists are also welcome.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. The conference is supported by the Danish Agency for Higher Education and Science and Food & Bio Cluster Denmark.
